Syahādah (الشهادة), atau ucapan kepercayaan, adalah pernyataan kepercayaan dalam keesaan Tuhan (Allah) dan Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.sebagai rasulnya. Mengucap dua kalimah syahadah merupakan salah satu daripada lima Rukun Islam. Apabila dinyatakan dengan kuat secara ikhlas, seseorang itu secara rasmi dianggap mengisytiharkan diri sebagai penganut baru Islam.

• Transliterasi:
  • LA ILAHA ILALLAH MUHAMMAD RASULULLAH.
• Terjemahan bahasa Melayu
  • Tiada Tuhan Melainkan Allah; Muhammad Itu Pesuruh Allah.

Pengucapan syahādah secara jujur, dalam Bahasa Arab, di hadapan dua orang saksi Muslim, adalah cukup untuk seorang menjadi seorang Islam menurut kebanyakan sekolah-sekolah tradisional.

Biasanya frasa أشهد أن 'ašhadu 'an = "Saya bersaksi bahawa" ditambahkan di awal kedua-dua Syahadah.

Syarat sah 2 kalimah syahadah

Bagi seseorang yang belum Islam mengucapkannya beserta kepercayaan di dalam hati, maka terpelihara diri, harta dan nyawa seperti orang Islam.

Syarat bagi sahnya syahadah adalah:

1. Tertib lafaz syahadah seperti yang dinyatakan.
2. Melafazkan kedua-dua kalimah syahadah dengan berturut-turut (tanpa diselangi perbuatan lain)
3. Mamahami makna kedua-duanya mengikut bahasa yang difahami.
4. Mentaati perintah Allah dengan cara diamalkan Nabi Muhammad saw.
5. Menggunakan perkataan "asyhadu" (ﺃَﺷْﻬَﺪُ) pada keduanya.
6. Tidak syak atau ragu-ragu akan kedua-duanya.
7. MenunaikanHak Syahadah'

Setelah seseorang mengucapkan syahadah maka wajib baginya menunaikan Hak Kalimah Syahadah. Hak kalimah adalah 'amar maaruf nahi munkar' iaitu untuk disampaikan kepada mereka yang belum mengucapkan kalimah(orang belum Islam) dengan mengajak mereka mengucapkan kalimah syahadah iaitu Tiada Tuhan selain Allah, dan Muhammad(saw) itu pesuruh Allah dan sesama orang Islam dingatkan tentang maksud Kalimah dan diajak taat segala perintah Allah bermula dengan Dakwah dan Solat. Rukun Pertama Islam yang diamalkan oleh Nabi Muhammad(saw) dan para sahabat di Mekah sebelum datang perintah atau Rukun Islam kedua iaitu Solat.
